In this constant hustle to express our true selves on canvas, are we really able to mirror our inner selves? Or are we just suppressing our true expressions to please and be accepted by the audience? It strikes a nerve, right?
Various surveys reveal that many artists struggle to express themselves properly, whether due to financial constraints or internal conflicts. Artists who once considered art their safe space now find it challenging to use that sanctuary for genuine expression, which can be devastating. Often, we see artists repeating their well-appreciated artwork or style instead of experimenting or exploring further for their own growth. There are instances when artists take inspiration but instead of molding that inspiration into their unique style, they replicate 90% of it and add only 10% of their own, claiming it as theirs, which is ethically questionable.
The life of an artist is a symphony of self-discovery, creativity and self-expression. Beneath each vibrant stroke and medium lies a profound connection between the artist and their artwork, a connection of emotion and the inner realm of their soul, which indeed brings the artwork to life.
Taking all of the above into consideration and aiming to support young artists who are just beginning their beautiful artistic journeys, the Vulcan Art Gallery has developed a tailored four-week workshop. Guided by experienced artists, these workshops will provide personalized guidance and professional insights into the art world, helping participants untangle their unresolved doubts and questions. Through this process, artists will dive deep into the hidden layers of their art, learn how to infuse their work with a central theme, add final touches to their artworks and give their creations a verbal language.
This program in itself offers a glimpse into the inner artist's journey, igniting their true potential to excel in the real world. Participants will first be guided to have a dialogue with their artworks to absorb the true essence of their art. Each workshop will then build on this foundation and by the concluding week, participants will be ready with their own mirrored canvases and will be prepared to step confidently into the art world.
In this world of striving to express, being forced to suppress and tending to repeat audience-approved artwork, we are here to support you in expressing, connecting and harmonizing with your soul and canvas.
