Poornima Mohan

My art is a journey into the boundless realm of emotion and expression, where color,

form, and texture become the language through which I communicate my innermost

thoughts and feelings. I am a contemporary abstract artist, and my work is a

reflection of the chaotic beauty that resides within the human experience. Having

studied psychology and art therapy, art to me is an expression of self, without words.

A language that meets the viewer midway to form a connection, from within.

My creative process is an exploration of the interplay between spontaneity and

intention. I embrace the unpredictable nature of abstraction, allowing each

brushstroke, palette knife swipe, and a layer of paint to guide me toward unexpected

outcomes. It is within this unpredictability that I discover moments of clarity and

meaning

In a world filled with noise and distraction, I seek to create spaces of introspection

and connection through my art. Each piece is an invitation for viewers to embark on

their own personal journey, to find their unique interpretation within the layers of

abstraction. I believe that art has the power to transcend language and cultural

barriers, offering a universal connection that speaks to the shared human

experience.

I get my inspiration from the world around me. It is in the moments amidst chaos that

I find my deepest wellspring of creativity. The landscapes, with their ever-changing

colors and moods, offer an endless array of visual and emotional experiences. The

seascapes, in particular, hold a special place in my heart. The vastness of the ocean,

with its mysteries and secrets, mirrors the boundless depth of the human psyche.

I work with charcoal, graphite, oil pastels, wax crayons, inks and acrylics.

As an abstract artist, my intention is to challenge perceptions, provoke thought, and

inspire emotion. I aim to blur the lines between the tangible and the intangible, the

seen and the unseen, inviting viewers to explore the depths of their own

consciousness. In doing so, I hope to foster a deeper connection between the

observer and the art, where meaning is discovered anew with each encounter.
